I am a horror and mystery author and member of the Pittsburgh chapter of the HWA. I have an MFA in Writing Popular Fiction from Seton Hill University and also hold a certificate in women and gender studies with a focus on queer theory. I also have a background in STEM. I live with a genetic condition that affects the joints and nerves, and my work focuses on disability representation and advocacy. I enjoy explorations of diversity in which characters’ identity is never the source of conflict and they can fight monsters instead of the real world. In my free time, I enjoy astronomy, visiting museums, dressing up for Renaissance fairs, and caring for a very stubborn old dachshund.
I have a completed manuscript and am seeking the representation of an agent.
PITCH: Half Sick of Shadows is inspired by Dracula with a Lovecraftian tone and is an homage to classic gothic horror told through a disability lens. A historian and a tailor accept work at an isolated manor, home to an old money family rumored to know the secret to immortality. They’re skeptical, but as inexplicable illness and seductive nightmares occur, they must unravel the family’s bloody secrets before they become its next victims. This novel will resonate with anyone who’s doomscrolled on diagnosis websites.
